Jazz Forward Elijah Hughes Knocks Down Early Threes Against Raptors

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz forward Elijah Hughes buried a pair of three-pointers during the opening minutes of Utah’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors hosted the Jazz on Friday, January 7.
Hughes started the game for Utah after all five members of the usual starting lineup were ruled out.
Only 1:18 into the contest, Hughes knocked down a 23-foot shot to give the Jazz an early 3-2 lead.

A couple of minutes later, Hughes connected on another triple to put Utah up 11-5 with 8:47 to go in the quarter.

Utah owned a 13-5 lead with 8:21 left in the first quarter. Hughes had six points on 2-2 shooting from beyond the arc. He added one rebound and an assist in four minutes of action.
Hughes was originally selected by the Jazz during the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft.
This season, Hughes is averaging 0.4 points and 0.1 rebounds in nine games.
