LOS ANGELES – Before the Utah football team completed their 2021 season in the Rose Bowl, their coaches are being pursued by other programs.
According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, the USC Trojans are targeting Utah RB coach Kiel McDonald for the same position in Los Angeles.
At this time, it’s unknown if McDonald will take the job.
Sources: #USC is targeting #Utah running backs coach Kiel McDonald for the same role under coach Lincoln Riley. McDonald has spent the past five seasons at Utah, working with multiple All-Pac-12 backs. Previously worked at Eastern Washington and also spent 2011 at Arizona State.

McDonald has spent the last five seasons with the Utes. He came over with Troy Taylor from Eastern Washington and has coached some of the best running backs in the program.
McDonald has been a strong recruiter for Utah by signing some talented running backs. He has also brought in transfers like T.J. Pledger, Tavion Thomas and Chris Curry.
He also coached the greatest running back in school history in Zack Moss. McDonald is from Colorado but has spent a lot of time in California as a player or a coach.
