Utah’s Whittingham Named Finalist For Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant Coach Of The Year Award

SALT LAKE CITY – The American Heart Association named Utah football’s Kyle Whittingham as a finalist for the 2021 Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year award.
Whittingham was announced as a finalist on Tuesday, December 14.
The head coach previously won the honor in 2008.
Whittingham is one of nine finalists for this year’s award.

The Utes head coach was recently recognized as the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award Pac-12 Coach of the Year, Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year, and a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award.
Earlier this season, Whittingham became Utah’s all-time wins leader.
He led the Utes to their first Pac-12 Conference title and first-ever Rose Bowl Game bid.
Whittingham received Coach of the Year honors in 2009 and 2019.
Utah will play Ohio State in the Rose Bowl on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at 3 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN.
