Reports: ‘Tensions Boiling Over’ With Jaguars Coach Urban Meyer
SALT LAKE CITY – Tensions between former Utah Utes and current Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer and members of the team have reached a boiling point, according to multiple reports.
On Saturday, December 11, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that tensions between Meyer and some members of the team have “boiled over.”
“Months of tension surrounding Jaguars coach Urban Meyer has boiled over with multiple run-ins with players and other coaches in recent weeks, sources say, renewing questions in league circles about whether Meyer’s stay in Jacksonville could end after just one tumultuous season,” Pelissero wrote. “At this point, there are no signs that Jaguars owner Shad Khan is seriously considering a change.”

“Khan plans to stay the course with coach Urban Meyer,” sources told ESPN.
During the past couple of weeks, Meyer has reportedly had conflicts with wide receiver Marvin Jones and some of his assistant coaches.

Meyer has also been criticized for the benching of running back James Robinson.
Earlier this season, the former college football coach lost trust within the organization after an incident at his restaurant in Ohio.
This season, Meyer and the Jaguars own a 2-10 record, which is tied for the second-worst record in the NFL.
Jacksonville’s next game is against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, December 12 at 11 a.m. (MDT) on CBS.
