Lions Place Former BYU RB Jamaal Williams On COVID-19/Reserve List

SALT LAKE CITY – The Detroit Lions placed former BYU running back Jamaal Williams on the team’s COVID-19/Reserve list.
The transaction took place on Friday, December 10.
Per agreed-upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on a player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list is for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

The Lions are coming off their first win of the 2021 NFL season. After starting the year with an 0-10-1 record, Detroit beat the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13. Williams led the Lions with 17 carries for 71 rushing yards in the victory.
This season, Williams has run the ball 110 times for 459 yards and two touchdowns.
He also has 22 catches for 126 yards out of the backfield.
Detroit’s next game is against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, December 12 at 2:05 p.m. (MDT) on FOX.
