SALT LAKE CITY – Perhaps reports of Donovan Mitchell no longer dunking are overblown.
The Utah Jazz guard threw down a thunderous two-handed jam against the Boston Celtics in the third quarter of Friday night’s game.
With the Jazz locked in a close game with Boston, the team needed a spark. and Mitchell provided it by dunking on the Celtics defense.

Mitchell cut to the rim and caught a great backdoor pass from Joe Ingles before rising up for the slam.
Most of Mitchell’s dunking has been done in transition this season, but the guard showed he still had his patented hops by throwing the ball down easily in the halfcourt.
Unlike Mitchell’s more typical one-handed scissor kicking dunk, the All-Star guard caught the ball and double pumped before dunking it with two hands.
The ignited Jazz fans and gave the Jazz a 92-89 lead with just over three minutes left in the third quarter.
Mitchell had 23 points after the made dunk.
