SALT LAKE CITY – Utah’s Tony Finau is in the field for the Hero World Challenge this week following an extended break from PGA Tour play.
Finau, 32, last played at the Houston Open on November 11th where he missed the cut.
Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, Finau tied a course record alongside Jon Rahm at Silverleaf Golf Club in Arizona during a friendly round of holiday golf. With winter fast approaching in Utah, Finau and his family have relocated to Arizona for the next few months as he annually does when the snow starts to dust the Wasatch Front.
The Hero World Challenge has been fruitful for Finau in the past. In 2019 he concluded his campaign in a tie for 10 while in 2018 he finished in 2nd just 4 shots behind winner Jon Rahm.
This year’s event will be held at Albany Golf Course in New Providence, Bahamas.
Finau will play alongside Harris English during the first round with their tee time scheduled for 9:38 a.m.
