SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz and the team’s former owners, the Miller family will continue their annual Thanksgiving tradition of providing meals to unsheltered and low-income individuals this season.

The Jazz announced that the continuation of the Thanksgiving event would be held on Tuesday, November 23, at Vivint Arena, marking the 23rd anniversary of the tradition.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Thanksgiving Meal that has traditionally been hosted at Vivint Arena will be available via delivery and pickup only in 2020 and 2021.

Utah Food Services will prepare more than 3,000 meals for delivery and pickup to community resource centers including the Salt Lake Rescue Mission, Salt Lake Mission, Gail Miller Resource Center, Gerald E. King Resource Center, Road Home Men’s Resource Center, and The Inn Between.

“We are honored to continue a 23-year tradition of joining with the Jazz organization to provide a Thanksgiving meal to our brothers and sisters who are experiencing homelessness,” said Gail Miller, owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.

The meal will include traditional Thanksgiving staples like sliced turkey breast, cubed potatoes, gravy, stuffing with celery and onion, peas and carrots, dinner roll and butter, and cookies.

The Larry H. Miller Group of companies sold the majority control of the Jazz to Ryan Smith during the 2020-21 NBA season.

The Jazz will play on the road on Wednesday, November 24 in Oklahoma City before returning home to Vivint Arena where they will host the New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday.
