Thompkins caught nine passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns in the win over NMSU. The 215 yards was a career-high and is tied for ninth-most with James Murphy for the most receiving yards in a single game in school history.
His two touchdown catches tied a career-high and all nine of his catches were at least 20 yards or more. Thompkins is the first Utah State receiver to surpass 200 yards receiving in a game since Kevin Cutis in 2001 when he had 11 receptions for 211 yards against South Florida.
Utah State wrapped up their non-conference schedule and will jump back into Mountain West play with a 7-2 overall record and 4-1 in MWC action. They will be on the road on Saturday, November 13 to face San Jose State at 8:30 p.m. MT on FS1 and The Zone Sports Network.
