Dixie State Can’t Overcome Slow Start In Loss To Stephen F. Austin

ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Dixie State Trailblazers couldn’t overcome a slow start in their 37-20 loss to Stephen F. Austin on Saturday in their homecoming game.
Kobe Tracy threw for 243 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the loss for Dixie State. Drew Kannely-Robles racked up 183 yards and one touchdown.
SFA started the game with 20 unanswered points in the first half with a one-yard TD by Miles Reed, followed by a 43-yard field goal, a 14-yard TD pass from Trae Self to Xavier Gipson and a 53-yard field goal.

Dixie State made a field goal as time expired to go into the locker room facing a 20-3 deficit. The first score of the second half came on a 47-yard TD run by Kannely-Robles to pull DSU within 10 points.
The Lumberjacks extended the lead to 27-10 with a 60-yard TD connection for the second time between Self and Gipson.
Dixie State added a field goal early in the fourth quarter to trail by two touchdowns. SFA put the game away with a 40-yard field goal and a passing TD from Self to Chad Aune.
The Trailblazers added a touchdown with 36 seconds left.
Dixie State dropped their record to 0-7 on the season. They will be on the road to face No. 25 Delaware State on Saturday, October 30 at 11 a.m. MT on FloSports.
