SUU Unable To Reach End Zone In Loss To Northern Colorado

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah Thunderbirds struggled to score and were unable to reach the end zone in a loss to the Northern Colorado Bears.
The T-Birds hosted the Bears at Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City, Utah on Saturday, October 23.
UNC defeated SUU, 17-9.
It was Southern Utah’s fifth straight loss.

The T-Birds were unable to score any touchdowns and were limited to three field goals by the Bears.
Northern Colorado scored a touchdown four minutes into the game and never trailed.
Thunderbirds kicker Noah Alejado connected on field goals in the first, third, and fourth quarters.
Despite offensive struggles, SUU stayed within one possession for most of the contest. The Bears only led by more than one score for less than three minutes in the fourth quarter.

T-Birds quarterback Justin Miller finished the game 29/50 passing for 307 yards.
Brandon Schenks led SUU’s receivers with seven catches for 101 yards.

With the loss, the Thunderbirds fell to 1-7 on the season and an 0-5 record in Big Sky Conference games.
Southern Utah’s next game is on the road against the Montana Grizzlies on Saturday, October 30 at 12 p.m. (MDT).
