WACO, Texas – BYU linebacker Payton Wilgar picked off Baylor quarterback Gerry Bohanon in the end zone to prevent the Bears from scoring a first quarter touchdown.
The Bears hosted the No. 19 Cougars at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas on Saturday, October 16.
With 6:55 remaining in the opening quarter, Bohanon and the Bears went for it on 4th & 4 from the BYU six-yard line rather than kick a short field goal.
Bohanon tossed a ball into the end zone before Wilgar leaped into the air for the interception.
I'm shocked this is Baylor's 1st pick! Terrible decision to throw this ball! Horrible.

The pick ended an 11-play, 75-yard drive by the Bears.
It was Bohanon’s first career interception.
