WACO, Texas – The ESPN College Gameday crew made predictions for the top games in a given week. BYU vs. Baylor, a game featuring two 5-1 squads, was among their biggest games of week seven.

Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit were all at Athens, Georgia, for No. 1 Georgia hosting Kentucky. Before the Saturday Selections segment at the show’s end, there was a unique feature previewing BYU-Baylor.

“I tell you what, guys, I’m excited about this game,” said Desmond Howard. “You look at BYU, going up against Baylor –like you said RD– this is a quiet team that people aren’t paying attention to in the Big 12. Dave Aranda and his staff have done a nice job with this offense. They don’t beat themselves; they don’t make a lot of mistakes. They have an identity. And you knew that their defense was going to be one of the best because Aranda is a great defensive mind.”

Howard added, “Let’s talk about BYU. They got Jaren Hall back last week; they lost to Boise State. Where is BYU at mentally? I think Baylor just might get BYU.”

Ultimately, the former Heisman Trophy winner ended up picking BYU in the end to get the upset victory.

Kirk Herbstreit has been on the ESPN College Gameday set since 1996. Like Howard, he likes Baylor in this game.

“I think they play well today; I think they win,” Herbstreit said regarding the Baylor Bears.

The head coach of the show, Lee Corso, added his commentary in only a way Lee Corso could provide, “Baylor’s hot. BYU is not. Baylor by a touchdown.”

College Gameday analyst David Pollack called for BYU to be his “Superdog” pick of the week. The Cougars come into today’s game as an underdog against Baylor.
