SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jordan Clarkson wasted little time reminding Utah Jazz fans why he’s earned the nickname “Flamethrower” during his NBA career.
Clarkson knocked down 3-8 three-point attempts in his preseason debut against the San Antonio Spurs and led all players with 11 first-half points.
Last season, Clarkson led the Jazz in three-pointers made, connecting on a team record for a single season 208 deep balls.

Two seasons ago the Jazz designed a regular-season awards campaign for Clarkson, showing the Sixth Man of the Year Award winner dressed as the superhero Flamethrower.
The team even made shirts to recognize the guard’s nickname, one of which teammate Joe Ingles wore when he surprised Clarkson with the Sixth Man of the Year trophy last season during the playoffs.
Clarkson and Ingles are the only two players in Jazz history to have seasons with at least 200 made threes. However, with a full 82 game schedule and better health, Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley could each join the Jazz 200 three-point club.

The Jazz have three more preseason games for Clarkson to fine-tune his shot before the regular season.
The Jazz three-point shooting barrage will begin officially on October 20 when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder in the season opener.
