SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The No. 2 Skyridge Falcons remained undefeated while pitching a shutout on defense with a 36-0 win over No. 6 Orem on Friday night.
The Game Night Live Game of the Week was a defensive battle in the first half before Skyridge took off in the second half. McCae Hillstead accounted for two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. It’s the fourth straight game that Skyridge has shut out their opponent.
After Orem came up empty in their opening drive, Skyridge decided to attempt a 54-yard field goal and nailed it to take a 3-0 lead. The Tigers tried to punt the ball away on their next possession but the punter took too many steps and it was blocked by the Falcons. Skyridge couldn’t convert as Orem’s defense forced the Falcons to turn the ball over on downs.
The Tigers got the ball back on an interception but they couldn’t convert off the turnover as Jace Doman returned an interception for a touchdown and the Falcons had a 10-0 lead late in the first quarter.
That was the score at halftime with both defenses playing well.
Early in the third quarter, Orem was about to get the ball on a punt when they had too many players on the field, which gave Skyridge a first down. Shortly after the penalty on Orem, McCae Hillstead made them pay with a 66-yard touchdown run to put the Falcons up 17-0 with 10:01 remaining in the third quarter.
All Falcons tonight. 🧡🏈

Skyridge put the game out of reach when Smith Snowden ran in a touchdown to put the Falcons up 30-0 with 2:39 left in the third quarter.
Hillstead added another touchdown early in the fourth quarter by finding Josh Davis. Skyridge’s lead was 36-0 with 11:21 left in the game.
Skyridge played their backups for the rest of the game.
