Anderson Julio Pulls One Back For RSL, Prevents Shutout To Whitecaps FC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Anderson Julio scored a late goal and prevented Vancouver Whitecaps FC from shutting out Real Salt Lake.
Vancouver hosted RSL at BC Place on Sunday, August 29.
In the 90th minute of action, Julio took advantage of a deflection off the crossbar and scored RSL’s only goal of the match.
The forward’s goal cut Whitecaps FC’s lead to 4-1.

Julio’s goal was one of the few bright spots in the match for Real Salt Lake.
After trailing 1-0 at halftime, RSL allowed Vancouver to score three goals in a 17-minute stretch.
For Julio, the goal was his sixth of the season.
The forward entered the match with five goals on 19 shots, including seven shots of goal this season.
The result was RSL’s second straight loss and fourth defeat in the month of August.
