Game Night Live: Adarius Edwards, Wasatch Escape Park City With Rivalry Win

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Quarterback Adairus Edwards and the Wasatch Wasps escaped Park City with a rivalry victory over the Miners to open the 2021 high school football season.
The Miners hosted the Wasps on Friday, August 13.
Wasatch and Park played a back-and-forth game that resulted in a 21-15 victory by the Wasps.

After scoreless drives by both teams on their opening drives, the Miners struck first and took a 6-0 lead with 2:11 remaining in the opening quarter.
Wasatch responded and scored its first touchdown of the game with three seconds remaining in the first quarter. An extra point gave the Wasps a 7-6 advantage heading into the second quarter.
Midway through the second quarter, Park City regained the lead with a field goal and moved the scoreboard to 9-7.
Wasatch converted a fourth down late in the first half and capped the drive with another score and went into the locker room at halftime with a 14-9 lead.

Park City’s defense stood strong during the opening minutes of the second half and the Miner offense started clicking as well.
The Miners took their turn scoring and went up 15-14 with 6:15 left in the third quarter.
Later in the quarter, Wasatch jumped back in front on a nice touchdown run and made it a 21-15 game.
Both teams were scoreless during the final quarter of play.
Wasatch attempted during the run clock out in the final minutes of action before Edwards threw an interception in the final minute.
Park City had the ball in Wasps territory but failed to capitalize on the golden opportunity to comeback.

Edwards finished the game with 245 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and one rushing score.
With the result, Wasatch moved to 1-0 to start the season and Park City moved to 0-1.
