SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – New Pac-12 Conference commissioner George Kliavkoff shared a funny reaction to the news of potential college football realignment rumors.

On Wednesday, July 21, the Houston Chronicle reported that the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners reached out to the Southeastern Conference about potentially joining the league.

Shortly after the report surfaced, the Pac-12 commish posted his reaction to the news on social media.

“Just when I thought my first month on the job could not get more interesting…” Kliavkoff tweeted.

“Texas and Oklahoma of the Big 12 have both reached out to the Southeastern Conference about potentially joining the powerful league, a high-ranking college official with knowledge of the situation told the Houston Chronicle on Wednesday,” Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman reported.

If the two programs were to move conferences, it would send seismic waves throughout the college football landscape and could potentially impact the Pac-12 Conference.

The last time the Pac-12 expanded was a decade ago when Colorado and Utah joined the league.

Kliavkoff is entering his first season as the Pac-12 commissioner. The former president of MGM took over as the conference’s leader on July 1.
