RSL Goalie David Ochoa Rejects LAFC’s Carlos Vela With Massive Save On Penalty Kick

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake goalkeeper David Ochoa prevented a goal by LAFC’s Carlos Vela with a huge save on a penalty kick.
LAFC hosted RSL at Banc of California Stadium on Saturday, July 17.
During the second half, Real Salt Lake defender Aaron Herrera committed a penalty with a hand ball.
Vela failed to capitalize on the opportunity due to Ochoa.
The Real Salt Lake goalie dove to his left and prevented Vela’s penalty kick from entering the goal with a timely block.

Ochoa’s play drew the approval of former RSL goalkeeper and franchise legend, Nick Rimando.

The first goal of the match came in the 10th minute of action when Diego Rossi gave LAFC an early 1-0 lead.
In the 18th minute, Herrera leveled the score with a goal on an RSL counter.
