SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake took a first-half lead against Vancouver Whitecaps thanks to the wonderful precision of midfielder Damir Kreilach who slotted home the goal from just outside the area.
Fortunately, Albert Rusnak received the assist after he calmly played Kreilach into space with a beautiful flick. It is the RSL captain’s first assist of the season.

Kreilach scored his fourth goal of the season, tying him with Rubio Rubin for most goals by an RSL player on the season thus far.
Throughout the first half, RSL found themselves with the majority of the goal-scoring chances. None better than when Rusnak found room inside the area, only for his shot to be deflected.
RSL and Vancouver are playing in the first match back for both clubs from the FIFA International break. Both clubs are fighting for “home” turf as Vancouver has been temporarily playing their home fixtures at Rio Tinto Stadium due to the ongoing immigration regulations between Canada and the United States.
