Jazz G Donovan Mitchell Starts Third Quarter Red Hot Against Clippers

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell gave the Utah Jazz a huge boost to start the third quarter in Game 1 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
After trailing 60-47 at the half, Donovan Mitchell went on a personal 10-2 run to bring the Jazz to within five points, 62-57 with 9:43 left in the third.
Mitchell started the third with a driving floater right out of the gates before hitting a stepback three-pointer. Paul George nailed two free throws before Mitchell started the scoring barrage again with a three-pointer and a layup. The Clippers called timeout after the layup as Vivint Arena was getting loud. Just minutes later, Mitchell hit another three-pointer to put the Jazz within two points before Kawhi Leonard nailed a triple.

It was deja vu of sorts for the Jazz as they started the game on a 10-2 run and had the same run again to start the third quarter. The problem about the run in the first quarter was the Jazz then missed their next 20 shots, including 14 three-pointers.
Midway through the third quarter, Mitchell had 28 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field and 5-of-12 from downtown.
Game 2 between the Jazz and Clippers will be on Thursday, June 10 at 8 p.m. MT on ESPN.
