BYU Basketball Will Face UCLA In First Round Of 2021 NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – BYU basketball was the last team in the 2021 NCAA Tournament to find out who they would face in the Round of 64, but now they know. The Cougars will face UCLA on Saturday, March 20th, 2021 at 7:40 p.m. (MT) at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.

UCLA defeated Michigan State in First Four action on a late Thursday night tip at Mackey Arena on the Purdue campus in West Lafayette. The Bruins won 86-80 in overtime in a game that saw Michigan State up as many as 14 points.
BYU played UCLA last year in the 2019 Maui Invitational and the Cougars won 78-63.
Saturday night will be BYU’s first NCAA Tournament game since 2015.
BYU and UCLA have met in 24 previous meetings and are 12-12 all-time. This will be the fifth meeting between BYU and UCLA in the NCAA Tournament. The first tournament matchup was in 1950 and the most recent was in 1981. A year that saw BYU advance to the Elite 8.
