Donovan Mitchell Erupts For 20-Point Third Quarter During Jazz/Wizards Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell exploded on offense during the third quarter of Utah’s game against the Washington Wizards.
The Wizards hosted the Jazz at CapitalOne Arena on Thursday, March 18.
After scoring nine points during the first two quarter, Mitchell erupted for 20 points during the following 12 minutes after halftime.
The mark tied a career-high for any quarter in Mitchell’s career.
Mitchell’s burst help the Jazz cut a double-digit deficit to single digits midway through the quarter.

Unfortunately for the Jazz, the Wizards stretched the lead back to almost 20 points at the end of the quarter.
The @utahjazz got the @WashWizards lead to as low as 8 but it has ballooned back to 18 with 1:22 left in third.

At the end of the quarter, Mitchell had 29 points on 12-12 field goals, including 3-8 from beyond the arc.
He added three rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Despite he scoring Mitchell posted a minus-17 rating during his first 29 minutes on the floor.
The Jazz trailed the Wizards by 18 points, 100-82, going to the fourth quarter.
