SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau has opted to not participate in the upcoming Honda Classic this week and will instead set his sights on the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play that begins on March 24.
Finau, who missed the cut last week at The Players Championship after posting a combined score of three-over-par through the first two rounds, has a lot to ponder as the Major golf season awaits.
Some familiar faces will be missing this weekend @THEPLAYERSChamp.

The missed cut last week signified the first time since August in which Finau had not played on the weekend.
Prior to last week’s mishap, Finau was in career-best form posting the most Official World Golf Ranking points through the first two months of 2021.
However, Finau continues to fight for his second career victory, a feat that is likely taking its toll on world number 13. His only PGA Tour win came back in 2016 at the Puerto Rico Open. Since then, he has multiple second-place finishes, including back-to-back second-place finishes this year at the Farmers Insurance Open and the Genesis Open.
Currently, Finau is the 13th best golfer in the world and is 8th in the FedEx Cup standings.
