Neemias Queta Lifts Utah State Past Nevada After Strong First Half

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies swept Nevada this weekend after an 87-66 win over the Wolf Pack on Sunday evening at the Spectrum in Logan, Utah.
Neemias Queta led the charge for Utah State in their win over Nevada with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists, while shooting 9-of-19 from the field and 8-for-9 at the free throw line. Three other Aggies reached double figures in scoring, including Justin Bean’s double-double of 17 points and 13 boards. Also, Alphonso Anderson chipped in 12 points and Marco Anthony had 11.
The Aggies had a strong start to the game, getting a double digit lead by halftime after outscoring Nevada 39-23 and shot 38 percent from the floor. Utah State knocked down just two three-pointers in the half but went 11-for-12 at the free throw line.

They still outscored Nevada in the second half, 48-43. USU shot 47 percent from the floor and made just two of their seven attempts from beyond the arc. They also lived at the foul line in the second half, attempting 15 free throws and missing just one.
For the whole game, Utah State shot 42 percent (29-68) from the field, 18 percent (4-22) from the three-point line and 92 percent (25-27) at the foul line. They outrebounded Nevada 47-24 and 17-1 on the offensive glass.
Utah State improved their record to 16-7 overall and 13-4 in Mountain West Conference play. They will play two more games in the regular season before heading to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Tournament. The Aggies will host Wyoming on Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. MST and then travel to Fresno State on Saturday, March 6 at 9 p.m. MST. Both games will be televised on FS1.
