Utah State Hoops’ 11-Game Winning Streak Ends With Disappointing Loss To Colorado State

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies had their 11-game winning streak snapped after falling to Colorado State 84-76 in Logan on Thursday night.
Utah State couldn’t overcome the run in the second half by Colorado State that put them up by seven with 4 minutes to play. The Aggies suffered their first conference loss of the season and their first defeat since Saturday, December 5 against BYU at The Spectrum.
It was a close game throughout as the Rams took a 37-35 lead into the locker room. There was five lead changes. USU’s largest lead was 10 and CSU’s was 12.
The big difference in the first half was Utah State shooting just 2-of-12 from beyond the arc. Colorado State made 6 of their 14 attempts from the perimeter.
In the second half, Colorado State outscored Utah State 47-41. The Rams shot 50 percent from the field and USU was 41 percent from the floor.

Five Aggies scored in double figures led by Brock Miller with 14 points and 4 three-pointers. Neemias Queta had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Rollie Worster added 12 points, 4 boards and 5 assists. Steven Ashworth and Alphonso Anderson each dropped 10 points off the bench.
Isaiah Stevens led all scorers with 18 points for CSU, along with 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Kendle Moore posted 16 points, while David Roddy and Dischon Thomas had 15 points apiece.
Utah State dropped to 12-4 overall and 9-1 in Mountain West play. They will hit the road for a two game series with UNLV beginning on Monday, January 25 at 7 p.m. MST on CBS Sports Network. The second game will be on Wednesday, January 27 at 9 p.m. MST on FS1.
