Utah Football Receives First Verbal Commitment Of 2022 Class From QB JP Zamora

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah football program received their first verbal commitment of the 2022 recruiting class.
The Utes picked up a commitment from pro-style quarterback J.P. Zamora. The Chiawana High School star is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports.
The Pasco, Washington native announced his decision on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
“First and foremost, I would love to thank my parents and friends and family for being my motivation to be the best version of myself day in and day out,” Zamora wrote. “My family and I have came to a conclusion to further my education at the school that best fits me… I am now committed to the University of Utah.”

Zamora received interest from many schools. His only other offer was from Nevada.
The Utes have 16 players that have verbally committed to the program in the 2021 class. Three players are four-star prospects, including quarterback Peter Costelli. 12 are three-star recruits. Currently, Utah is ranked No. 5 in the Pac-12 and No. 34 in the nation according to 247Sports.
