Fennegan, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the son of former BYU football player Garth Fennegan. The elder Fennegan played at BYU from 1990-93 and played quarterback and defensive back during his career in Provo. He was once a commit to Clemson before signing with BYU in the class of 1990.
Cade Fennegan was a two-star quarterback recruit in 2018 from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas. Fennegan served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Argentina before enrolling at Boise State this season.
Cade Fennegan's dad, Garth, was originally a Clemson QB commit. Then signed with #BYU out of high school. Switched to DB later in his career with the Cougars.
