LOGAN, Utah – Just before the halftime break, Utah State scored a nice touchdown as Jason Shelley found Deven Thompkins for a 37-yard TD.
Shelley was flushed out of the pocket before going to his right and stepping up near the line of scrimmage when he threw the ball to the end zone. Thompkins caught the ball in the corner of the end zone and dragged his feet when making the catch.
It’s the first touchdown pass of the season for both Shelley and Thompkins. At the end of the first half, Shelley completed 13-of-20 passes for 88 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Thompkins hauled in 3 receptions for 40 yards and a score.

Jaylen Warren scored two touchdowns last week in the season opening loss versus Boise State but did not see the field in the first half due to injury. Former Utah running back Devonta’e Henry-Cole saw the majority of the carries in the opening half, finishing with 8 carries for 23 yards in the first 30 minutes of action.
Utah State’s offense struggled before that final drive of the first half. At the break, the Aggies had just 136 yards, 88 passing and 48 rushing.
