SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau has completed his first competitive round of golf on the PGA Tour since he tied for eighth at the U.S. Open in early September.
Finau finished the first round of the Zozo Championship at Sherwood Country Club in California at three-under par, five shots off the leader Sebastian Munoz.
The Utah native began his round with a birdie on the first hole followed by an eagle on the par 5 second to quickly put himself in contention.

However, a bogey on the par 5 fifth brought him back to reality. He made the turn at two-under-par.
His back nine consisted of three consecutive par’s on holes 10,11 and 12 before he pocketed his first of two birdies on hole 13.
Unfortunately, immediately following the birdie on 13 came a bogey on 14.
Finau made his final birdie on the par 5 16th after hitting his third shot tight from 112 yards.
