Real Salt Lake Versus Colorado Scheduled For October 18th Cancelled By League

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids match scheduled for October 18 has been postponed by the league following an abundance of cases within the Rapids traveling party.
As of Monday, October 12th, the Rapids have had 5 players and 13 staff members test positive for the coronavirus. The Rapids last played a competitive match on September 23rd when it defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 5-0.
Upcoming matches for the @ColoradoRapids (Oct. 14 at @SoundersFC, Oct. 18 vs. @realsaltlake and Oct. 21 vs. @SportingKC) have been postponed.

“Although there have been no new confirmed cases among Rapids staff and players, based on the total number of cases, Major League Soccer, in consultation with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, has postponed Colorado Rapids matches for the next 10 days,” Real Salt Lake said in a statement.
Major League Soccer is working on rescheduling the game.
Pressure On The League
The announcement comes during a period of pressure for the league following FC Dallas vs. Minnesota United and Columbus Crew vs. Orlando City matches over the weekend were postponed after two players from Minnesota, two staff from Columbus and one player from Orlando tested positive for the coronavirus.
