SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has signed former Academy and current Real Monarchs midfielder Bode Davis to a Homegrown contract. Davis becomes the 22nd RSL Academy player to sign a first-team contract.
“It’s a dream come true to join a couple of other kids that I grew up playing within a place I call home,” Davis said. “I just want to keep working and I look forward to playing for the fans at Rio Tinto Stadium.”
It has been a quick transition for Davis who graduated from the Academy and onto the Real Monarchs roster in the Spring of 2020. Since joining the Monarchs Davis has appeared in 12 matches where he has managed one goal and two assists.

Davis, 18, can play in a number of different roles. During his short stint with the Monarchs, he has played on the wings. However, during his time with the Academy Davis occasionally played as a striker where he was able to score 18 goals over his career with the Academy.
RSL General Manager Elliot Fall, who attends every Monarch’s home match, has been impressed with the creativity of Davis.
“Bode is a player who has excelled in our Academy and shown a lot of potential in multiple places on the field. He has shown versatility and has the physical attributes to take the next step,” Fall said. “We are excited by what we have seen at the USL level and excited to have him come in at the MLS level.”
Davis will remain with the Monarchs for the remainder of the 2020 season but will transition to the first team starting in 2021.
