SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Army football announced that the “Corps of Cadets” will be the only attendees allowed in Michie Stadium for the Black Knights’ game against the BYU Cougars.
Army West Point is scheduled to host BYU in New York on Saturday, September 19.
“Fan attendance at the Army West Point football game at Michie Stadium on September 19, 2020 vs. BYU will be limited to the Corps of Cadets,” Army said in a statement. “It will mirror the attendance policy with just the Corps from the first two home games of the year vs. Middle Tennessee State on September 5 and ULM on September 12.”
Army improved to 2-0 on the season with a win over Louisiana-Monroe on September 12.
The Cougars and Black Knights are scheduled to kick-off at 1:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on CBS and KSL NewsRadio 1160 AM & 102.7 FM.

Attendance policy for BYU’s first game
BYU’s season opener against fellow military school Navy had zero fans in attendance. That policy included members of the United States Navy.
Prior to the game against BYU, Naval Academy athletic director Chet Gladchuk announced that there would be no fans in attendance.

“Today, in our judgment, fans in the stands, even socially distanced and with a wide-array of protocols in place, still present a concerning risk for COVID transmission,” Gladchuk said in August 19. “We are still optimistic there will be home football games this season where our season ticket holders will be extended the opportunity to personally attend. Improving conditions may dictate justification to open our gates in a setting with extensive safety protocols being appropriately administered. Every season ticket holder will be provided with information via email in regard to their ticket and attendance options over the next day.”
The Cougars soundly defeated the Midshipmen 55-3 and own a 1-0 record in 2020.
