No. 8 Brighton Claims Third Straight With Big Win Over Woods Cross

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The eighth ranked Brighton Bengals won their third straight game of the season with a 35-14 victory over Woods Cross.
The No. 8 Brighton Bengals beat the Woods Cross Wildcats 35-14 on Friday evening. After holding a 21-7 lead at halftime, the Bengals put the game away with a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Brighton’s Gabe Curtis and Cole Lavin combined for five rushing touchdowns.

Bear River (4A) 13 Bonneville 37
A 13 point second half by the Bear River Bears wasn’t enough to overtake the Bonneville Lakers on Friday night. Bonneville held a 27-0 lead at halftime and carried it to the win. Lakers quarterback Kamen Best threw five touchdowns in the victory.

Copper Hills (6A) 48 Cottonwood 7
The Copper Hills Grizzlies scored 21 points in the opening quarter of action on their way to their third win of the season. The Grizzlies blasted the Cottonwood Colts 48-7 on Friday.
Desert Hills (4A) 26 Spanish Fork 28
The Spanish Fork Dons scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to squeak past the Desert Hills Thunder for 28-26 win. Spanish Fork’s Zac Dart threw a pair of touchdowns in the win.
Hillcrest 13 Judge Memorial (3A) 0
The Hillcrest Huskies blanked the Judge Memorial Bulldogs 13-0 on Friday evening. Huskies running back Talon Yates ran in the only touchdowns of the contest.
Hurricane (4A) 6 Mountain Ridge 45
The Mountain Ridge Sentinels routed the Hurricane Tigers 45-6 on Friday. After a 24 point first half, the Sentinels added 21 points in the third quarter to win big. Ayden Helm tossed five touchdown passes in the win.
Richfield (3A) 20 Payson 7
The Richfield Wildcats picked up their third win of the season with a 20-7 win against the Payson Lions. Entering the fourth quarter, both teams were tied at 7-7 before the Wildcats added 13 points to the scoreboard. Richfield quarterback Gavin Brown threw three touchdowns in the win.
Riverton (6A) 18 No. 18 Lehi 28
The No. 18 Lehi Pioneers scored a touchdown in every quarter and held off a late comeback attempt by the Riverton Silverwolves to win 28-18. Lehi quarterback Creyton Cooper threw a trio of touchdowns in the victory.

No. 16 Salem Hills 28 Juab (3A) 7
After a scoreless opening quarter of play, the No. 16 Salem Hills SkyHawks scored 21 unanswered points across the second and third quarters to capture a 28-7 win over the Juab Wasps. SkyHawks quarterback Jarret Elmer accounted for three touchdowns in the win.
Skyline 35 Juan Diego (3A) 14
The Skyline Eagles rode 35 first half points to a 35-14 win over the Juan Diego Soaring Eagle. Skyline quarterback Braxton Bolingbroke tossed two touchdowns and ran in another.
Springville 10 Bountiful 28
The Bountiful Braves recorded their second win of the season with 28-10 win over the Springville Red Devils. The Braves scored three touchdowns in the first half on their way to victory.
Timpanogos 0 No. 15 Maple Mountain 49
The No. 15 Maple Mountain Golden Eagles blanked the Timpanogos Timberwolves 49-0 on Friday, August 28. Maple Mountain scored a touchdown in every quarter of the contest. Golden Eagles quarterback Tyler Nelson threw threw touchdown passes and ran in another pair.

No. 19 Wasatch 42 Viewmont 10
The No. 19 Wasatch Wasps shutout the Viewmont Vikings in the second half and cruised to a 42-10 win on Friday evening. Wasatch’s Adarius Edwards tossed three touchdowns in the win.
