No. 1 Corner Canyon Wins 28th Straight With Shutout Victory Over No. 11 Herriman

DRAPER, Utah – The No. 1 ranked Corner Canyon Chargers won their 28th straight game with a 56-0 win over No. 11 Herriman.
The KSLSports.com Game Night Live Game of the Week featured a tremendous first half performance by quarterback Jaxson Dart, who accounted for six touchdowns, four passing and two rushing.
The 28th straight win is tied for fourth in state history for the most consecutive wins.
That makes 28 consecutive victories for the No. 1 Chargers as they cruise to their second win of the season.

35-Points In First Quarter
On the first offensive drive, Dart found Noah Kjar for a 76-yard touchdown on a third down conversion. After forcing Herriman to go three-and-out, Corner Canyon quickly found the end zone again. Dart and Kjar connected on a long pass that went to the one-yard line. On the next play, Austin Bell ran in his first touchdown.
After forcing Herriman to punt for the second straight drive, the Chargers capitalized with a 26-yard touchdown run by Dart. That put Corner Canyon up 21-0 with 5:43 remaining in the first quarter.
The top-ranked Chargers are in control at the end of the opening quarter.

The Mustangs were forced to punt for the third straight time. Corner Canyon picked up two chunk plays on a pass play to Kjar. Austin Bell put the Chargers into the red zone before Dart connected with Talmage Handley for a three-yard TD to put Corner Canyon ahead 28-0 with 3:18 remaining in the first quarter.
Herriman punted for the fourth time. Their defense was able to get a sack on Dart but two plays later, Dart found Handley for an 85-yard touchdown. That gave Corner Canyon a 35-0 lead with 13.9 seconds left in the opening quarter.
Dominant Second Half
The Chargers were facing a 3rd and 19 in their own territory when Dart threw a deep pass to Kjar who was taken down at the five-yard line. On the next play, Bell ran in his second rushing touchdown of the game to go up 42-0.
Late in the second quarter, both teams exchanged punts before Corner Canyon scored their second TD of the quarter when Dart connected with Handley for a 55-yard touchdown. That made the Chargers take a 49-0 lead with 2:12 remaining until halftime.
The Chargers have held the Mustangs scoreless through 24 minutes of action.

In the third quarter, Dart kept the ball once again and found the end zone to put the Chargers ahead 56-0 with 6:10 remaining in the quarter.
Corner Canyon improved their record to 2-0. They will travel to Bingham next Friday at 7 p.m.
Herriman dropped their record to 0-2 on the season. They will host West Jordan next Friday at 7 p.m.
