SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU star Brandon Davies has signed an extension with his current club, FC Barcelona.
Davies joined the EuroLeague powerhouse this past season where he averaged 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds in 28 games played. The EuroLeague was cut short this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Davies’ new contract extension keeps him with Barcelona through the 2022 season. His original contract signed last year after completing a historic run with BC Zalgiris was good through 2021, so the extension ends up being an additional year.
Brandon Davies shined in Liga ACB’s “Bubble”
This extension comes on the heels of a run to the Liga ACB Final in Spain last month. Liga ACB, a Spanish basketball league, had a “bubble-like” setup to revive their 2019-20 season. Davies and FC Barcelona advanced to the Finals of the restarted season before falling to Baskonia.
In the restarted season games, Davies averaged 10 points and five rebounds per game, highlighted by a game against Tenerife in stage play where the former BYU great dropped 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Since completing his career at BYU in 2011, Davies has played in the NBA for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets. In 2015, Davies left America to play overseas where he has played in Italy, France, and now the EuroLeague and Liga ACB.
