Nashville SC, Chicago Fire Match Postponed Due To Positive COVID-19 Cases

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Major League Soccer has announced the postponement of the MLS Is Back Group A match between Nashville SC and Chicago Fire on July 8. The news comes following news that five Nashville SC players tested positive for the coronavirus.
Further details regarding when the match will be played will be made at a later date. Nashville SC has been mandated to record additional testing, the results of the testing will determine their future regarding the MLS Is Back tournament.

“Since arriving in Orlando on July 3, five Nashville players have had confirmed positive tests for COVID-19. Two of the players received the confirmed positive results during the weekend and three players received confirmed positive results last night. In addition, four other players have received inconclusive test results, and require further testing,” the league said in a statement.
“All 26 teams have now arrived in Orlando and all MLS players have been tested at the host hotel for COVID-19,” the statement added.
