SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The PGA Tour is back following a three-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. Local Tour member, Tony Finau, finished the first round with a two-under round of 70, five shots off the leaders Justin Rose and Harold Varner III in the inaugural event back, the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Finau was in a spot of bother late, one over par with just four holes remaining. However, he was able to birdie three of the final four holes to build momentum going into the second day. He is currently in a tie for 39th.
Nice finish for @TonyFinauGolf at the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge. Birdied three of his last four holes to finish -2 for the day, five shots back of the lead.@KSLSports #PGA

It was an up and down day for Finau who birdied six holes, unfortunately, a birdie was shortly followed by a bogey for the Salt Lake native.
Regardless, Finau ended up hitting 71 percent of the Colonial Country Club fairways which culminated in 72 percent of greens hit in regulation. A rather consistent outing considering the hefty and tedious break he and his players are coming off.
A pretty solid round for Tony. Had a few rough holes, but overall played a great round.
I’ll have some round stats out later

Zac Blair
Finau was not the only local player in the field, he was joined by fellow Utahn Zac Blair finished the first day with a final round 71 to finish plus-one and be in a tie for 97.
Reggie Bush Introduces Finau
Arguably the greatest running back in college football history introduced Tony Finau to the tee box as part of the golf channel’s no spectator experience.
Following Finau’s introduction by Bush, Bush quickly changed the subject matter and went on a two-minute rant venting about his golf game.
“This little white golf ball is holding me back from greatness,” Bush confesses.
Golf is stressing @ReggieBush out. 😂
Also, he's happy to welcome @TonyFinauGolf back on the tee. pic.twitter.com/1J0FigQXF8
