Report: BYU Basketball To Play Oregon Ducks During 2020 Phil Knight Invitational

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The BYU men’s basketball team will play the Oregon Ducks during the 2020 Phil Knight Invitational, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
The Cougars and Ducks will reportedly tip-off on November 17th in Portland, Oregon.
The basketball tournament is played in honor of Nike co-founder Phil Knight.
Sources: Gonzaga is expected to play USC and Oregon is expected to face BYU on November 17th in the 2020 Phil Knight Invitational in Portland.

According to Rothstein, the 2020 edition of the tourney will feature the Gonzaga Bulldogs and USC Trojans in addition to the Cougars and Ducks.
Last year, the Phil Knight Invitational featured the Ducks as well as the Oregon State Beavers, Memphis Tigers, and Oklahoma Sooners.

BYU vs. Oregon
The game will be the 23rd meeting between the West Coast Conference and Pac-12 Conference teams. Through 22 games, Oregon leads the all-time series 14-8.
BYU’s last matchup with Oregon came during the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The No. 7 seed Ducks soundly defeated the No. 10 Cougars by a score of 87-68 to advance to the Round of 32. Earlier in the 2013-14 season, BYU traveled to Eugene, Oregon to play a top 15 ranked Ducks team and lost 100-96 in overtime.
Last season, Oregon finished as the No. 13 ranked team in the country and No. 1 in the Pac-12. The Ducks closed the season with a 24-7 record.
BYU ended the 2019-20 campaign ranked No. 18 in the country and finished No. 2 in the WCC. The Cougars posted a 24-8 record.
