The matchup will put two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history against one another in Saints legend Drew Brees and the Buccaneers newly acquired Tom Brady, who played the last 20 seasons in New England. This meeting will mark the first time Brees and Brady square off as divisional foes.
Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees isn’t the only thing local fans should watch for
Both the Saints and Buccaneers have athletes from local universities highlighted by New Orleans’ new $21 million Swiss Army Knife in former BYU star Taysom Hill. Hill is expected to continue his role in the “F Position” of coach Sean Payton’s offense. In the F position, Hill could be seen at wide receiver, tight end, quarterback, or running back.
Former Utah standout Marcus Williams is one of the top five safeties in the NFL and continues to anchor a starting role in the New Orleans secondary. Chase Hansen, former Ute and Lone Peak High star is also on the Saints roster.
On the Bucs, Matt Gay prepares for his second season as Tampa Bay’s starting kicker.
