Chicago Bears Waive Former Utah State Tight End Dax Raymond

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Chicago Bears announced that they have waived former Utah State tight end Dax Raymond.
The Bears now have nine tight ends on their roster after waiving Raymond.
Raymond signed with the Bears last May as an undrafted free agent while staying with the team through the 53-man roster cuts. During the 2019 season, Raymond hauled in three catches for 22 yards in four preseason games.
When the regular season started, Raymond was placed on the Bears’ practice squad.

The Bears are stacked with tight ends on their roster. They drafted Notre Dame’s Cole Komet in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In free agency, they signed former Packers, Seahawks and Saints tight end Jimmy Graham along with Demetrius Harris. The Bears also have Ben Braunecker, Darion Clark, J.P. Holtz, Jesper Horsted, Eric Saubert and Adam Shaheen on the roster.
Raymond spent three seasons at Utah State from 2015-18 when he decided to forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft. During his time with the Aggies, Raymond had 72 catches for 873 yards and 3 touchdowns.
