Locals Athletes, Teams Honor Women In Their Lives On International Women’s Day

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Local athletes and teams across the state of Utah recognized women in their lives during International Women’s Day.
Players and teams posted on social media to celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8.
While we should always support the women in any industry, today is a day to recognize and applaud women.
Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell took the time to honor his mother and sister on Instagram. “Love to my Queens,” wrote the Jazzman.
Mitchell also showed off a new International Women’s Day colorway of his signature Adidas D.O.N Issue #1 shoes.

Fellow Utah Jazz player Joe Ingles posted a message of “Happy International Women’s Day!!” along with a photo of his wife and daughter.
Jazz center Rudy Gobert posted a photo of his mother and him along with a message saying “to all the great mums out there, and to all the ladies that keep showing the world that anything is possible.”
The Jazz organization also celebrated International Women’s Day.

The Jazz will honor women during their game against the Toronto Raptors on Monday, March 9.

The BYU Cougars went to social media to wish everyone a Happy International Women’s Day. “Here’s to strong women may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them,” BYU Athletics posted.
The Utah women’s basketball team also joined social media to celebrate women.

The Utes’ track and field/cross-country squad also tweeted to show why they celebrate International Women’s Day.
