Yoeli Childs Moves To Sixth On BYU’s All-Time Scoring List

Feb 8, 2020, 11:39 PM | Updated: Feb 9, 2020, 1:52 am

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball forward Yoeli Childs is among the greatest players to ever come through the Cougar hoops program. After Saturday night’s 32-point performance in a win against the San Francisco Dons, Childs has now moved to sixth all-time on BYU’s top scorer’s list.

An impressive accomplishment for a player who has missed half of his senior season and was a role player in his first year with BYU.

Childs is now up to 1,894 points in his four-year career with the Cougars moving him past former BYU forward Russell Larson who had 1,885 points during his playing days from 1991-1995.

How far could Childs move up the all-time scorer’s list? Sadly, this might be the highest Childs can go in his career. In front of Childs at the No. 5 spot is Devin Durrant who scored 2,285 points, 436 more than where Childs is currently.

With only six more guaranteed games in his BYU career, Childs will finish sixth in scoring at BYU.

Along with his scoring accomplishments, Childs is in the hunt to become the all-time leading rebounder in BYU history. Childs currently has 995 rebounds, 52 behind Kyle Collinsworth who pulled down 1,047 boards in his career that concluded in 2016.

Childs is also in the top five all-time for blocks. He’s currently 16 behind Russell Larson to take over the fourth spot on the list and 52 behind the all-time leader in Greg Kite.
