SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake general manager Elliot Fall announced that the club officially signed Venezuelan forward Jeizon Ramirez.
After days of speculation, Fall confirmed the addition of Ramirez on Thursday, February 6.
“Jeizon is a dynamic attacking player with a nose for goal and a playmaking ability to create for his teammates,” RSL General Manager Elliot Fall said. “He is already an experienced professional and can help our team immediately, but at just 18 years old, has tremendous capacity to develop. We are excited to see what he will be able to do under the tutelage of our staff and development structure.”

Ramirez joins RSL after playing for Deportivo Tachira, a first-tier Venezuelan club.
Despite being just 18-years young, Ramirez has appeared 65 times for his home club, Tachira, adding 6 goals.
Real Salt Lake needed attacking players after the club parted ways with longtime stalwarts Sebastian Saucedo, Brooks Lennon, Joao Plata, and Jefferson Savarino.
Prior to Ramirez’s signing, Corey Baird and Sam Johnson were the only two players on RSL’s roster that have proved to be valuable assets to the attacking third.
Real Salt Lake kicks off its 2020 campaign against Orlando City SC on Saturday, February 29 at 4 p.m. (MDT).
