SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz are looking to get back into the win column against the Portland Trail Blazers after suffering the franchise’s worst stretch of losing in nearly four years.
The Jazz (32-18) host the Blazers (23-28) at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday, February 6. Utah enters the third meeting of the season with Portland on a five-game losing streak.
The last time the Jazz dropped five consecutive games was in the middle of the 2015-16 season. Utah lost five straight games to the San Antonio Spurs, Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Memphis Grizzlies from February 25 to March 4, 2016.

That poor stretch of games was in the midst of Utah losing 10 out of 13 games. The Jazz fell out of the playoff picture during the final week of the schedule and finished the season losing four of their last five games to end with a 40-42 record.

It was last season Utah missed the NBA Playoffs.
During the Jazz’s current skid, they’ve lost consecutive games to the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and then Denver again. Prior to the loss against the Spurs, Utah had won 20 of its last 23 last games.
After Utah picked up a win in the matchup this season, the Blazers hosted the Jazz in the second meeting of the season series on February 1. Utah was unable to stop Portland guard Damian Lillard who led the Blazers to a 124-107 win with 51 points.
