After First Miss, Jazz Hit 9 Straight Field Goals To Start Game Against Kings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz connected on nine consecutive shots after missing their first field goal attempt of the game against the Sacramento Kings.

The Jazz hosted the Kings at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday, January 18.

Utah’s first shot of the game came off the hands of forward Joe Ingles who missed a 25-foot shot from behind the arc 18 seconds in the game. After that attempt, the Jazz scored on their next nine field goal attempts. The Jazz shot a perfect 100 percent on their next nine attempts to closeout their first 10 shots of the game.

Utah’s second missed shot of the game came with 6:04 left in the first quarter when Sacramento’s Marvin Bagley III blocked Joe Ingles’ 10-foot shot in the paint.

The Jazz were up 24-10 after Bogdanovic’s 27-foot triple. Utah started the first six minutes of the game shooting 88.9 percent from the field including 75 percent from downtown.

Rudy Gobert shot 4-4 on field goals for 10 points to start the game.

Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic both went 2-2 on their first shots of the contest.

Ingles was the only Jazzman to miss shots to open the game.

The Jazz completed the first quarter with a 38-22 lead.
