Cameron Oluyitan Helps Thunderbirds Fly Past Idaho State

POCATELLO, Idaho – Southern Utah guard Cameron Oluyitan led the Thunderbirds to a big road victory over the Idaho State Bengals.
Oluyitan and the T-Birds defeated the Bengals by 16 points at Reed Gym on Thursday, January 9.
The Southern Utah guard scored 20 points to led the Thunderbirds to a 71-55 road victory over the Bengals.
Oluyitan shot 7-16 from the field and 1-4 from three-point land. He went 5-8 from the free throw stripe. The SUU guard was the only T-Birds starter to score in double figures against the Bengals. Oluyitan added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal in the win.

The Thunderbirds’ second unit was led by John Knight III’s 15 points and Dwayne Morgan’s 13 points.

Southern Utah held a four-point advantage at halftime and pulled away midway through the second half for the double-digit victory.
Idaho State’s Chier Maker had 15 points and 5 rebounds to led the Bengals.
The T-Birds outshot the Bengals 49.1 percent to 32.7 percent on field goals and 45.5 percent to 22.2 percent on three-pointers.
Southern Utah forced Idaho State into 13 total turnovers on their way to a third consecutive win.

With the win, SUU improved to 10-5 on the season and 3-1 in Big Sky Conference games.
Idaho State fell to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Southern Utah has a week off before hosting Northern Arizona on Thursday, January 16 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
