BYU Quarterback Joe Critchlow Enters Transfer Portal

PROVO, Utah – BYU quarterback Joe Critchlow has entered the transfer portal. Critchlow, a redshirt sophomore quarterback from Franklin, Tennessee, started in three games in his BYU career.

All three of Critchlow’s starts took place in his freshman season in 2017. Critchlow redshirted in 2018 and then saw game action in three games in 2019. In his BYU career, Critchlow threw for 715 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions. In his three starts, Critchlow posted a 2-1 record as the starting quarterback for BYU.
Critchlow who was on a scholarship had fallen to fourth string on BYU’s current quarterback depth chart. Coming up in January, BYU will be issuing a scholarship to third-string quarterback Baylor Romney who started in two games this season for the Cougars.

Critchlow is on pace to graduate from BYU as a finance major making him immediately eligible at the next program he lands with.
Coming out of high school, Critchlow garnered interest from Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
BYU’s quarterback room in 2020 will consist of Wilson, Hall, Romney, true freshman Sol-Jay Maiava, and walk-on Rhett Reilly.
