TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – The Salt Lake Community College men’s basketball team visited Taylorsville Elementary to spend time visiting and participating in activities with the students.

The Bruins basketball team visited the local elementary school on Wednesday, December 11.

During the visit, the SLCC players invited Taylorsville students and their parents to attend an upcoming Bruins basketball game for free.

The Bruins are currently 10-3 on the season and 4-1 at home under first-year head coach Kyle Taylor.

SLCC was recently ranked No. 24 in the NJCAA Division I Top 25 rankings before dropping a game at the Florida Tournament to Eastern Florida State College.

SLCC is led by Spencer Johnson who is averaging 14.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in 13 games this season. Johnson committed to Mark Pope and the BYU in October 2019 and signed with the Cougars during the early signing period in November 2019.

The community college will host the SLCC Tournament from December 13-14.

During the two day tourney, the Bruins will face Impact Academy and Tohono O’Odham College. USU Eastern will also participate in the SLCC Tournament.

The Bruins play Impact Academy on Friday, December 13 at 7 p.m. (MDT) at Lifetime Activities Center-Bruin Arena in Taylorsville.
