Derrick Favors To Miss First Game In SLC With Pelicans

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah Jazz big man Derrick Favors is out and did not travel with the New Orleans Pelicans in the first game in Salt Lake City since Favors was traded to New Orleans.
Favors has been dealing with back spasms and has missed the last three games and will be absent for the fourth consecutive game on Saturday against the Jazz.

This season, Favors is averaging 8.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and shooting 62 percent from the field. He spent nine seasons with the Jazz and recorded 12.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game, while shooting 52 percent from the field during his time in Salt Lake City.
Favors had his first 20-20 of his career on Thursday, November 14. He had 20 points and 20 rebounds in 35 minutes of action in their win over the Clippers. The Pelicans are 6-9 this season and have won their last three games.
Both teams will play three more games against each other with the next two in New Orleans on Monday, January 6 and Thursday, January 16. The fourth meeting will be in Utah on Friday, March 13.
The game between the Jazz and Pelicans will begin at 7 p.m. from Vivint Smart Home Arena and will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
